Had to run the setup several times with the app on a Android device before it worked. I setup the modem first and had quite some struggles. I have a Netgear CAX80 Cable Modem and wanted to extend my WiFi range with this device. Finally, I’ve never had a single Netgear device fail so expect it to last until the technology is obsolete. Perhaps it was building routing tables or something like that. However, as reported by other users, this cleared up after about two weeks and it’s been rock solid ever since. It never dropped any devices and we wouldn’t have noticed had I not been nearby and noticed the uplink light turn red. I used the Smart Connect feature which really simplified things but requires a little more thought if you need to directly access the extender during troubleshooting use the provided link in the downloadable instructions and you’re home free. Configuration is intuitive and as simple or complex as you like.
